December 2022 – May 2023
CodeBrave at Maarouf Saad School in South Lebanon
When I entered the classroom and told my students that we’re going to start learning coding, one of them jumped over the chair because he heard about it from neighbours but never had the chance to learn it. Students are enjoying class because they feel like they’re playing and having fun and not just studying. Some of them don’t like studying but are smart; they don’t enjoy other subjects but are excelling and innovating in coding class. It’s a field that has captured their attention because it’s something new and they’re seeing what they’re creating; it’s not something abstract. Some students really only need an opportunity to thrive.

In 2022, our CodeBrave-Powered Schools programme equipped three teachers at Maarouf Saad Public School in South Lebanon with the skills and know-how to independently establish coding and robotics as a subject. They have been delivering engaging lessons with CodeBrave’s STEM.org accredited curriculum to over 150 students annually.
This project was made possible thanks to CG Fund.
