The CodeBrave-Powered Schools Programme
The CodeBrave-Powered Schools Programme upskills under-resourced public schools and education centres across Lebanon to independently deliver CodeBrave’s curriculum. We achieve this by training existing school teachers, coaching them during class as they implement the programme, and working with school administrations to integrate coding into the weekly schedule—two sessions per child.
This model is more sustainable and cost-effective than having CodeBrave teachers deliver the classes directly. However, it does come with challenges, which we have addressed through lessons learned from pilot projects. For instance, we only select teachers who demonstrate strong intrinsic motivation to participate, ensure they receive thorough training to deliver the programme confidently, and ensure the school administration’s strong commitment to the programme before entering a partnership.
What Happens During The CodeBrave-Powered Schools Programme?
The programme begins with CodeBrave Teacher Trainers delivering a 36-hour training course to the schools’ own teachers on our accredited coding, robotics, and AI curriculum.
Once trained, the teachers start delivering coding classes independently, with CodeBrave trainers attending and assisting their classes. This includes six hours of in-class coaching and class observations, giving the school teachers the chance to build confidence and refine their skills.
Teachers also learn best approaches to teaching coding in a K-12 setting, integrating customisable projects, soft skills, and internet safety into their lessons.
By upskilling schools, CodeBrave is not just teaching today’s students. We’re creating a sustainable model for tech education that can grow and adapt over time in Lebanon.
