Stephen Hall
Board Member | Partner, McKinsey
Stephen is a Partner with McKinsey and Company’s Middle East office. Most of his work is with governments and donors on addressing social sector topics, with a particular focus on education and public health. Originally from the UK, he has lived in Lebanon for over a decade. Stephen holds degrees in Middle Eastern studies from Cambridge and in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Dr. Mohammad S Harb
Board Member | Professor of Mechanical Engineering, AUB
Dr. Harb is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering, the principal investigator of the smart structures laboratory, the founder and director of AUB makerspace, and the faculty academic director of the interdisciplinary design practice program (IDPP) at AUB. An experienced researcher in design, prototyping, 3D printing, sustainable and advanced materials, as well as innovative student-centered pedagogy. His dream is to reform Lebanon’s educational system and empower the youth and Lebanese community with skills, tools, and facilities to explore their interests, develop creative projects, and be future innovators. He holds an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University.

Lama Yazbeck
Board Member | Co Chief Executive Officer at Aflatoun International
Lama Yazbeck is an accomplished professional in education, child protection, and mental health, with over 20 years of global experience. She currently serves as Co-CEO of Aflatoun International, a global network delivering social and financial education in over 100 countries. Prior to joining Aflatoun, she was CEO of himaya in Lebanon, that she led through a period of remarkable growth—from 25 to 130 employees—enabling it to reach over 100,000 individuals annually and positioning it as a leading national child protection organization. Lama holds a Bachelor’s degree in Specialized Education and an MBA jointly awarded by Paris Dauphine University, Sorbonne Business School, and Saint Joseph University. Her work reflects a deep commitment to empowering youth and advancing social equity through education.

Elie Afram
Board Member | Entrepreneur
Elie co-founded and leads Prime Financials, an online trading platform offering global and localised access to shares, currencies, commodities, and cryptos, for spot and futures. Elie is an entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in startups with a notable 8-digit exit in the London fintech sector. Widely recognised for his dynamic energy and motivational skills, Elie consistently proves to be a catalyst for innovation and growth. Beyond his primary leadership roles, he actively mentors emerging startups in areas like fintech, e-commerce, and agri-tech, providing insights on product scope and development, lean execution, and effective growth strategies.

Roy Saab
Board Member | Education & Upskilling Sector Expert
Roy Saab is a weathered educator and entrepreneur with a diverse portfolio in socio-economic development, technical capacity building, public-sector contracting, and international trade. Roy has designed programs, branding, and training across the board in the fields of education and up-skilling. As entrepreneur and agent of change, he has led the organisational re-engineering of national-scale facilities in Eastern Europe and effected multi-donor public-private partnerships influencing policy, job-market dynamics, and labor law. He sits on various non-profit and corporate boards, enables innovations, and maintains investments and active executive roles in agriculture, consulting, innovative manufacturing, and trade.

Sandy Fahed
Board Member | Senior Consultant, Beyond
Sandy’s work has focused on innovation, strategic management, capacity and entrepreneurship development, and community and partnership building both in the MENA region and further afield. She holds a bachelor’s in Business Administration with an emphasis on Human Resource Management from Haigazian University, and a Master’s of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Sussex, a degree she obtained while studying in the UK as a Chevening Scholar. Sandy is currently a consultant at Beyond Group where she catalyzes initiatives for meaningful change across all three practices.

Simona Helal
Board Member | Cost Controller, Total
Simona is an experienced financial analyst and controller with a background in business administration, ad-hoc reporting, and cost allocation. She has contributed to the development of local NGOs, including as the current President of Tripoli Rugby League Federation Club. Simona holds a BA in Auditing & Accounting from University of Balamand, a MSc in Financial Risk Management from Notre Dame University Louaize, and is currently pursuing the ACCA Certification. Simona is currently a Financial Controller at TotalEnergies EP.

Yasmina Brihi
Advisor
Yasmina Brihi holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Yasmina has held several senior management positions within Google, including Senior Director of Marketing and Senior Product Manager. She is well experienced in building and scaling businesses in multiple industries such as devices, music, gaming and e-commerce. This includes vast experience in leading and growing large organisations and shaping and transforming team culture across geographies.

Mounir Mouawad
Advisor | Product Lead, Stripe
Mounir Mouawad heads the Bank as a Service product at Stripe. Prior to that, he led product strategy and operations for Google Pay in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and managed some of Google’s largest e-commerce clients in Europe. Mounir holds a computer engineering degree from the American University of Beirut and an MBA from the London Business School.
