September 2024 – November 2024
CodeBrave at 7 shelters in Beirut, Mount Lebanon & South
“Coding class made us forget about how frightened we were during the war.” Carine, 12 years old
Carine is from South Lebanon. Her home was destroyed during the war, forcing her family to flee to Beirut. They sought safety at a shelter with other displaced families, where they lived for more than two months. CodeBrave began delivering coding and robotics classes at 7 shelters across the country in September 2024, providing children with much-needed distraction from the war through fun game-based STEM classes, whilst also teaching key science and math concepts. Before the ceasefire was announced, CodeBrave’s classes were the only education Carine had access to.
With the generous support of our donors, we were able to keep more than 200 children learning during the war.
Education is a lifeline that must continue.
