The Coding Bootcamp in Sour this summer, a partnership between CodeBrave, LFPA and the Malala Fund, aimed to equip 100 students aged 12-18 with essential 21st-century digital skills and build towards their future job prospects.

100 youth learned Coding, Robotics, Digital Entrepreneurship & Website Development. Younger students programmed their own “Fit-Bits” using microcontrollers, came up with agri-tech solutions to global challenges like water shortages, and built water sprinklers that automatically activate when the soil is dry.

Older students used entrepreneurship principles to identify problems in their community and come up with innovative business solutions, then built their own websites for their solution using WordPress.

We asked students what they thought of the bootcamp: 98% of participants expressed increased confidence in their ability to code after completing the bootcamp and 95% of participants felt that the bootcamp significantly helped improve their creativity and problem-solving skills. 100% of participants enjoyed the coding bootcamp.
