Scholarship Programme

CodeBrave Scholarship Programme

CodeBrave Scholars is a scholarship programme for exceptional and motivated young students aged 14-18 who lack the right opportunities in Lebanon. The programme accepts up to 20 scholars per cohort and runs once per year. Our aim is to reach 88 scholars by 2024.

During the scholarship, students learn fundamental coding concepts in Python which they immediately put into practice by creating their own projects. Depending on their level and motivation, they can learn with their tutors for up to 96 sessions, moving on to learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript, which allow them to create websites. The scholars also complete an internship as part of their training, building websites for real clients. In addition to their tutors’ continuous support during the programme, scholars receive mentorship from EduPact and LIFE Lebanon. Upon completion of the full training, scholars become eligible to join the CodeBrave Step Out programme.

And just like our students at schools and shelters, scholars are taught by our amazing tutors, who are experts in Computer Science or Engineering, Microsoft-certified, and trained by CodeBrave on teaching methodology and educational psychology. McKinsey consultants we’ve trained in 2021 also mentor our scholars on life skills.

Scholarship learning outcomes include:

– Developing foundational coding skills;

– Learning how to build games;

– Building key competencies for web development;

– Developing key soft skills for future employment;

– Developing job skills and a portfolio;

– Improving English language skills for work.
