Clem - Co-Founder & Co-Director
Clementine Brown
Co-Director and Co-Founder

Clementine co-founded CodeBrave in 2018. She now directs CodeBrave and CodeBrave Tutors, our affiliated social enterprise (codebravetutors.org). Clem speaks on topics related to STEM education, social enterprises and sustainable social impact, and has been featured in WIRED, Al Jazeera and The Week UK. Prior to founding CodeBrave, she worked at the United Nations as a data analyst. She graduated from Oxford University in Arabic & Persian. 

Eliana - Co-Director & Head of Education
Eliana Sleiman
Co-Director & Head of Education

Eliana combines her BE in Mechanical Engineering with an MA in Educational Psychology, both American University of Beirut, embodying CodeBrave’s joint expertise! She has 12 years of experience teaching children. 

Hana - Senior Project Manager
Hana Bechara
Head of Operations

Hana manages CodeBrave’s projects in Lebanon and trains our teachers on Child Psychology. She has a background working with children from deeply traumatic backgrounds both as an operations coordinator and therapist. She has a degree in Psychology from American University of Beirut and holds a Masters in Project Management from the University of Salford.

HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS

Gracia leads on communications at CodeBrave and has co-founded, in 2021, CodeBrave Tutors, the revenue generating arm of the non-profit, that provides tutoring services to children internationally while employing teachers in Lebanon. Prior to joining CodeBrave, Gracia worked in communications and events in the tech entrepreneurship and Oil & Gas sectors in Lebanon and the MENA region. She graduated from ESA Business School and ESCP Europe with a specialised MA in Marketing & Communications.

Farah has more than 13 years of experience working in Customer Service, Banking and Team Management. She holds a Master of Business Administration focused in Management from the Lebanese American University.

Caro - Executive & Strategy Consultant
Caro Loutfi
Executive & Strategy Consultant

Caro is an Executive and Strategy Consultant helping non-profits scale their impact. She was previously an Associate Director at Human Rights Watch, focused on Development and Outreach and based in London. She is the former Executive Director of Apathy is Boring, where she grew the organisation into a multi-million dollar non-profit, advised the Prime Minister’s Office on youth policy, and was named one of the Top 25 Women of Influence in Canada for this work. She holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy from Oxford University and sits on various boards and advisory committees globally.

May is an Architect and Socio-Urban Anthropologist with degrees from the Lebanese University. She has been teaching coding to children for over 3 years and is passionate about astronomy and space!

Inass is a passionate teacher who believes that to trigger any change in future generations, you have to start at the school level. She believes in the critical role a teacher plays in shaping students’ education and personalities, and improving their emotional and social skills. She has a master’s degree in Educational Administration and Policy Studies. She considers herself fortunate to be a CodeBrave tutor, where she can provide students with quality coding education, which is a basic requirement and essential skill.

Jad holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering from AUST. At 26 years old, he brings a fresh perspective and several years of hands-on experience in mechatronics engineering. Jad manages key projects and optimises equipment performance, leveraging a background in integrating mechanical systems with advanced electronics.

Malak studied Mechatronics Engineering at the Lebanese American University. She completed a 6 month internship at BMW group in Germany and worked as a lead robotics engineer at Spexal developing autonomous robotic solutions for companies all around the world. Today, she is a research assistant at the vision and robotics lab at the American University of Beirut developing techniques for creating digital replicas of the world around us by combining robotics, AI, and augmented reality. She has been teaching for more than 2 years now.

Mira is currently a B.Sc. in Physics at the Lebanese University. Her academic journey has been fueled by a passion for astrophysics and computational sciences, which introduced her to the world of coding. She thrives in the realm of education, particularly when working with children. For the past two years, she has been imparting her knowledge in mathematics and physics, trying to make an impact in the lives of her students. She now hopes she can make an even bigger difference by teaching code.

Razan holds a BS in Mathematics from the American University of Beirut (AUB), where she double minored in Computer Science and Computational Science on a full scholarship from USAID. Her passion for machine learning and neural networks has led her to work on new publications especially in Federated learning. Her love for teaching has also led me to serve as a math teacher at several institutions such as Lycée Français school and the GHATA schools that AUB has opened for refugees. She is an active volunteer with various NGOs.

Co-Founder, SE Factory

Fadi co-founded and co-leads SE Factory, a leading skills-training-for-jobs academy in Lebanon. SEF provides intensive coding bootcamps for low-income youth, helping them train on the necessary practical programming skills as well as soft skills that are required by the job market. Fadi is also a Partner at B&Y Venture Partners, a $46M venture capital fund based in Beirut, investing in high-potential technology startups, with a global mandate. Fadi co-founded and managed two of Lebanon’s first tech accelerators and has over 11 years experience in entrepreneurship ecosystems. Fadi is a mentor and board member at a number of startups and regularly advises on innovation policy.

Dr. Mohammad Harb

Professor of Mechanical Engineering, AUB

Dr. Harb is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering, the principal investigator of the smart structures laboratory, the founder and director of AUB makerspace, and the faculty academic director of the interdisciplinary design practice program (IDPP) at AUB. An experienced researcher in design, prototyping, 3D printing, sustainable and advanced materials, as well as innovative student-centered pedagogy. His dream is to reform Lebanon’s educational system and empower the youth and Lebanese community with skills, tools, and facilities to explore their interests, develop creative projects, and be future innovators. He holds an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University.

Widely recognised for his dynamic energy and motivational skills, Elie consistently proves to be a catalyst for innovation and growth. Beyond his primary leadership roles, he actively mentors emerging startups in areas like fintech, e-commerce, and agri-tech, providing insights on product scope and development, lean execution, and effective growth strategies.

Roy Saab is a weathered educator and entrepreneur with a diverse portfolio in socio-economic development, technical capacity building, public-sector contracting, and international trade. Roy has designed programs, branding, and training across the board in the fields of education and up-skilling. As entrepreneur and agent of change, he has led the organisational re-engineering of national-scale facilities in Eastern Europe and effected multi-donor public-private partnerships influencing policy, job-market dynamics, and labor law. He sits on various non-profit and corporate boards, enables innovations, and maintains investments and active executive roles in agriculture, consulting, innovative manufacturing, and trade.

She holds a bachelor’s in Business Administration with an emphasis on Human Resource Management from Haigazian University, and a Master’s of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Sussex, a degree she obtained while studying in the UK as a Chevening Scholar. Sandy is currently a consultant at Beyond Group where she catalyzes initiatives for meaningful change across all three practices.

She has contributed to the development of local NGOs, including as the current President of Tripoli Rugby League Federation Club. Simona holds a BA in Auditing & Accounting from University of Balamand, a MSc in Financial Risk Management from Notre Dame University Louaize, and is currently pursuing the ACCA Certification. Simona is currently a Financial Controller at TotalEnergies EP.

Stephen is a Partner with McKinsey and Company’s Middle East office. Most of his work is with governments and donors on addressing social sector topics, with a particular focus on education and public health. Originally from the UK, he has lived in Lebanon for over a decade. Stephen holds degrees in Middle Eastern studies from Cambridge and in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Bilal is a Strategy and Operations Manager at Google, focusing on a variety of topics including video ads and privacy products.Prior to Google, Bilal was working at Nuance Communication, an international leader in speech recognition technologies. At Nuance, Bilal was part of the product team that built the speech recognition engine that powered the early versions of Apple’s virtual assistant, Siri. Throughout his career, Bilal has covered multiple roles within the tech industry ranging from product engineering to consulting and business development. Bilal holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from McGill university in Canada, and a MBA from INSEAD business school in France.

Dan Grimm leads the New Product Development (NPD) team at AT&T, a community of developers, designers, product leaders, and architects building software-centric products, services, and platforms on AT&T’s leading-edge 5G and fiber connectivity. Prior to joining AT&T in January 2022, Dan grew new products and to global scale at Amazon and RealNetworks and co-founded internet startups. Before that he advised corporate and national leaders on growth and innovation in 15+ countries as an Associate Partner at Monitor Deloitte. Dan is an advisor to Engage AI, a nonprofit supporting the use of AI/ML to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals. He earned a BA from Yale.

Martin Brown has a 50 year career in the financial services industry, initially as a stockbroker and investment fund manager with Henderson and Clerical Medical International, where he specialized in offshore funds for international investors in Luxemberg and Guernsey. He later moved into the media and creative services sector of the financial services industry. He has been the Treasurer of an education charity in the UK for five years.

Olivia is a Senior Analyst at Finance Earth and works across a range of natural capital investment advisory projects.

Previously, Olivia worked in audit and advisory. Olivia worked in Deloitte’s Private Markets division, providing audit and advisory services to private equity backed businesses. Olivia subsequently joined PKF Littlejohn’s Not For Profit team, providing audit services for Institutional Donors, namely on EU and UN grants. 

Olivia is a qualified Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales and holds an MA (Oxon) in Modern Languages (French and Spanish) from the University of Oxford.

Robert is an experienced trustee, governor and audit committee member in the government and not for profit sectors. He is currently a trustee of Paintings in Hospitals, governor and Chair of the Finance and Estates Committee at Lady Eleanor Holles School and a member of the audit and risk committees at National Lottery Heritage Fund and Canal and River Trust. His previous appointments have included non-executive roles with the care sector charity Marie Curie, the Valuation Office Agency (an executive agency of HMRC) and the National Archives. Prior to this, Robert was a senior audit partner with PwC until his retirement in 2014. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.”

Amanda Ogilvie

Amanda is a solicitor qualified in both English and Scots law. She is Legal, Risk and Compliance Counsel at Action Against Hunger UK. Amanda has experience working as a specialist charities lawyer at DLA Piper and Bates Wells. She has also worked at a senior level in risk and compliance at Plan International, including work in Asia, Africa and the Americas. Amanda has extensive experience of advising charities on a wide range of legal, risk, compliance and governance matters with a particular focus on international humanitarian organisations.

Kareem is the CEO of laylapay, a cross-border payments company for migrants and small businesses. His background is in venture capital, financial marketing and strategy consulting. He has a degree in English Literature (Durham).
